Dr Sarah Taylor BA MA DThM
Professional
Sarah is a senior charity professional, researcher and consultant with over 20 years’ experience working across the public, private and voluntary sectors. She brings a rare combination of strategic insight and operational expertise, enabling organisations to strengthen leadership, improve systems and deliver meaningful, sustainable social impact.
Sarah began her career within the NHS, specialising in performance management and quality assurance, where she supported the implementation of national policy at local level and led initiatives to improve organisational effectiveness. She later transitioned into the charity sector, becoming CEO of a homeless charity in Lincolnshire, where she developed and led programmes that significantly improved outcomes for people experiencing vulnerability and social exclusion.
Moving from local to national practice, Sarah now works with organisations across the UK, supporting the design and delivery of learning and development programmes, strategic planning and impact measurement. She has extensive experience working with churches and charities to develop, scale and evaluate social action projects addressing poverty, hardship and social isolation.
Alongside her professional practice, Sarah has pursued extensive postgraduate research, culminating in a Doctorate in Theology & Ministry from Durham University. Her doctoral research followed churches as they navigated the pandemic, examining community, rituals and leadership, and identifying emerging tensions across pre-, mid- and post-pandemic contexts. She applies these insights to support leaders as they respond to cultural, sociological and digital change.
Sarah is particularly passionate about research-informed practice and brings a strong qualitative research skill set, including fieldwork, data collection, analysis and evaluation. She is motivated by amplifying lived experience, using evidence to inform strategic decision-making, and supporting organisations to translate vision into measurable impact.
Through her consultancy, Sarah works at the intersection of strategy, operations and impact, supporting charities and churches to build capacity, strengthen governance, manage risk and develop sustainable, mission-driven organisations.
Personal
Sarah has a long-standing commitment to community service and has previously served as a trustee of a local homelessness charity, providing governance and strategic oversight.
She lives in Lincolnshire with her husband and three children and enjoys exploring the countryside with her dogs, as well as planning her next travel adventure.
